Lullaby Machine

Little One

by Chamberlain / Gonzalez

This song was written shortly after Roe v. Wade was overturned. It's a response to heavy current events. I felt a compulsion to write a song for my nieces - something soothing, yet wide awake and wise. It's a sort of lullaby that hovers above the abyss. It's for the little ones and for anyone else who could use it.

Little one
You can see
There's plenty here to grieve
You can let the desolation fog roll in
And let it leave

Little one
Take heed
You’ll have to care for this one body
The pusher mansplainer tells you what
He wants you to need
So you better go read

Oooh
Little one take heed
The court that self-purports as supreme
Is rotted to the core with greed
Don’t follow
Don’t follow their lead
