sleep loop (winter)

by L.N. Sauer

This is a soundtrack excerpt from an imaginary (or maybe just forgotten) video game that I might have remembered playing on the hand-me-down beige computer tower in the basement of my childhood home.

I'm imagining (or maybe remembering) pixelated icebergs and low-poly dolphins following my mouse pointer through a simulated ocean. I suddenly notice the time on the bright blue Windows XP taskbar, and realize I haven't been playing the game at all for a while. I've just been letting the soundtrack, and the high-pitched background static of the CRT monitor, slowly lull me to sleep.
