Hope All Is Well In Your Land
by August Winter
I wrote this song to an ex, for whom I think I will always have love. It was written during a time when I was still coming to terms with the idea of living separate lives, and it was both a comfort to myself, as well as the wish to send comfort to them.
Have you learned how to make your coffee
Stir it up without stirring longing
Have you learned how to do your laundry
Empty the pockets before the washing
(Don't lose your money)
Hope all is well in your land
In the home where we used to stand
Across the sea a little ways
I watch the ski lights in a daze
Sleeping til the coffee's made
How is it already May?
Hope all is well in your Land
In the home where we used to dance
How's the window where we used to
Watch the light fade to deep blue
Are you walking in the woods
The ones where you once left me clues?
Hope all is well in your land
In the home where we used to laugh
Not much of a butterfly these days
It took all my flight to leave that place
Words aren't the things I need to say
Hmm
Hope all is well in your land
