I think everyone has some form of longing for night——for the part of us that we lose when we lock our front doors and switch the lights on, when we sit in front of the TV instead of around a campfire. Night is our darkness, our unconscious, the things we hide by day and close our eyes to in sleep. This song is about longing to return to the night.
